Conference "Energetika 2008" on Zlatibor - March 25-28

Gas pipeline "Južni tok" as an opportunity and future of Serbian energy sector and stockholding as a model for quick, successful and non-corrupted restructuring of national energy sector are the main themes that will be discussed by the participants in the international conference "Energetika 2008."

The conference will be organized between March 25 and 28 on Zlatibor.

- The aim of this year's Conference is to project global energy issues into coordinates of Serbian energy sector - said the President of the Association, Nikola Rajković.

According to his words, many things in field of legislation in our country have been done in lately, which means that a good legal framework has been created for the energy sector, but the investments in it have been rather small for so many years.

- The gas arrangement that Serbia signed with Russia, which anticipates construction of gas pipeline "Južni tok", represents a strategically important document for our country - he reminded.

An important test for the workers in energy sector in the following period will be their ability to provide quick and quality bringing of domestic legislation and practical actions in accord with the EU directives and international obligations in field of sustainable development.
