Great anniversary of Jovan Kolundzija – Fifty years on the scene

(Jovan Kolundzija) Renowned Serbian violinist Jovan Kolundzija marked 50 years on the concert circuit on Saturday, November 12, at the Kolarac Foundation.

Kolundzija performed with the RTS Symphony Orchestra, headed by conductor Stanko Jovanovic, and the maestro was joined on stage by his guest, Yury Revich, one of today's best young violinists.

The program included pieces by Saint-Saens, Sarasate, Paganini, the music from Gone with the Wind, Yentl, Schindler's List, Cinema Paradiso, Ladies in Lavender and Scent of a Woman, arranged by Slobodan Markovic.

Kolundzija has played 4,000 concerts in more than 45 countries, and his artistic achievements are confirmed by numerous awards. His projects include “The Magnificent Ten”, comprised of ten violin concerts in only four days, and “Do You Love Beethoven?”, a performance of Beethoven's entire opus of solo violin and piano sonatas over four consecutive nights.

His “Bravissimo, Maestro Mozart” program included the performance of 15 Mozart's sonatas in cooperation with four pianists, and the project “In Honor of the Great Brahms” concluded his concept of performing integral opuses of great composer's sonatas.
