President of Confindustria Serbia Erich Cossutta stated on the occasion that the initiative was directed at the young, who were the most valuable resource the country had.
– We want PMI Day to be an opportunity for the young to gain a wider perspective on how our companies organize their activities, to gain insight into the efforts us businessmen make in order to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and improve the business environment – Cossutta said at the press conference following the event.
The event was also attended by assistant to the minister of economy for SMEs, Katarina Obradovic Jovanovic, who noted that the state was more oriented towards the development of entrepreneurship and SMEs than ever before.
– In the Year of Entrepreneurship, not only are there 33 different programs for providing financial and non-financial support to the sector, but concrete steps are also being made towards establishing dual education. The enterprises themselves have a significant role, not just in the sense of letting us know what kind of HR they need, but also by taking a more active role in educating them – Jovanovic said.
A message of support to future initiatives aiming to strengthen the bond between the Italian economy in Serbia and the educational system was also sent by the adviser of the Embassy of Italy, Sergio Monti, and the adviser to the minister of education, science and technological development for dual education, Gabrijela Grujic-Garic.
The regional director for the corporate sector of Banca Intesa, Marija Radivojevic, stated that Banca Intesa had supported the project to the end of contributing to the strengthening of a strategically important segment of the Serbian economy.
Three companies, Luvata, Steeltec and Labor Legno, opened the doors of their production facilities for students, professors and the local community in order to share with the young their view of the world of production, relation to employees and the significance of creating an adequate educational program in order to prepare the future HR.
The event was organized by Confindustria Serbia, association of Italian industrialists, with institutional support by the City of Sremska Mitrovica and Mayor Vladimir Sanader, in cooperation with Banca Intesa. The initiative is supported and organized by Confindustria, the largest and most significant Italian association of production and service companies. The event was organized in Serbia for the first time this year.
