Mirko Kovač provided money for RTB "Bor"

The owner of Austrian company "A-Tec", Mirko Kovač, said that that company had provided money for the second installment for Mining – Smelter Basin "Bor".

In the interview for the Belgrade daily newspaper "Biznis", he said that the loan had been approved by certain Austrian bank and that the remaining part, in amount of 306m USD, would be paid prior to April 4, pointing out that people in "A-Tec" never though about giving up purchase of RTB `Bor`".

- Announcements in the media and speculations that we are giving up the purchase of RTB because we do not have money or because of the political situation in Serbia are absolutely not true – said Kovač.

He repeated that "A-Tec" had paid the first installment in amount of 150m USD prior to February 29, pointing out that that money had been provided from their own sources.

“A-Tec” asked the Privatization Agency to set new deadline for the first installment, February 29, and for the second installment, April 4, in order to, according to Kovač, agree on some small things.

Kovač denied that "A-Tec" was in debts, pointing out that that company has just obtained preliminary business results for year 2007, which show that the incomes were increased by 48.3%, to 2.36 billion EUR.
