Shortest airplane flight takes around two minutes

The shortest airline route in Scotland takes only two minutes to travel. The flight between two Orkney islands can be as short as 47 seconds, provided the winds are favorable, Sky News writes.

The managing director of Loganair said that the route was known across the world and a jewel in their network.

Regardless of its fame, the flight is essentially important for the people of Orkney.

The airplane with eight seats transports passengers from Westray to Papa Westray, off the coast of Scotland.

The airline established the route back in 1967 and so far holds the Guinness World Record for the shortest commercial flight.
