Kristalina Georgieva, former European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, was appointed first CEO of the World Bank on Friday, October 28.

– European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources and Vice President of the European Commission, Kristalina Georgieva of Bulgaria, has resigned from her post in order to become Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank – says the report by the Commission, as reported by AFP.

– It is with great regret that I have accepted Kristalina Giorgeva’s decision to resign from the European Commission – stated President of the EC, Jean-Claude Juncker.
