Halkbank makes RSD 370 million of profit in first nine months of 2016

Belgrade's Halkbank, operating under the eponymous Turkish bank, made a profit of RSD 370.5 million in the first nine months of 2016, compared to the loss of RSD 25.1 million incurred in the corresponding period of 2015.
In the third quarter of 2016, Halkbank incurred a loss of RSD 33.9 million. The net interest income in the first nine months grew by 6% to RSD 906.9 million, whereas the net F&C income decreased slightly and amounted to RSD 420 million.
The end result is mostly due to better net provisioning at RSD 33.7 million, compared to expenditures of RSD 520.4 million in the corresponding period of 2015.
Halkbank's assets amounted to RSD 33.7 billion at the end of September, a growth of 5.6% from the beginning of the year. The stock jumped by 45.5% to RSD 8,000, whereas the current market capitalization of the bank amounts to RSD 2.9 billion (EUR 23.4 million), Wisebroker reports.
