AmCham members invest EUR 14 billion in Serbia in 15 years

(Zoran Petrovic) The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Serbia) has marked 15 years of operations in Serbia, and the president of AmCham, Zoran Petrovic, has said that the organization now has nearly 200 members, which have invested a total of EUR 14 billion in Serbia.

– We have gone from the initial idea to organize good companies to the fact that AmCham now has nearly 200 members and that those companies have invested over EUR 14 billion – Petrovic stated.

The total income of the companies, as he says, amounted to more than EUR 11 billion in 2015, and by far the most important thing, as he emphasizes, is the impact of those companies and their desire to change Serbia for the better, to make initiatives in line with international standards so that companies and people in Serbia would have as much work as possible, and so that, of course, all that might lead to Serbia's progress, which, as he says, is AmCham's end goal.

As he added, AmCham will be dealing with the issues of the tax system and the tax administration in the period ahead and will also pay attention to topics related to the healthcare reform and continued fight against the grey economy.

Petrovic said that AmCham had had a very good communication with the Government in all its 15 years of existence.

– In all 15 years, we've had a very good communication with the Government, its representatives and other institutions. Our voice is heard, our suggestions are more or less acknowledged – Petrovic stated and assessed that all citizens benefited from that fact.
