(Aleksandar Vucic) The government's policy in the period ahead will focus on growth and consumption, announced Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. This means, as he has explained, the growth based on investments and export, but also on consumption.

The prime minister reminded that the minimum wage had been raised, which means that those who earn the least in Serbia, around 350,000 of them, mostly in the private sector, will have their salaries raised.

– Also, don't forget that salaries will be raised in the public sector as well, for another 350,000 by a considerable amount. As well, there will be one-off welfare expenditures and pensions will also be slightly raised – Vucic said and added that it would all be reflected in increased consumption.

As he points out, the key is to find new sources of growth, as a growth rate below 3% is unsustainable.

– When your growth rate is 3%, it means that over EUR 1 billion of value is created each year. This amount can be spent and invested in the growth, without impacting the ratio of the public debt to the GDP – Vucic said.

This is what's most important for us, Vucic pointed out and added that it was the foundation for further plans, such as the Belgrade subway and a thousand other projects.
