Azerbaijani loan utilization period extended until May 2018

Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic stated yesterday that the amendments to the agreement on the loan approved by Azerbaijan to Serbia for the construction of the Ljig-Preljina highway meant that the utilization period had been extended by two years.

As he said, the utilization period has been extended until May 4, 2018, so as to avoid the situation where the construction works are late again.

– At the moment of the submission of the proposal for the extension, 79.5% of a total of EUR 308 million had been withdrawn – Vujovic said.

The section of the Ljig-Preljina highway on Corridor 11, of the length of 40.4 km, should be completed by August 25, but the deadline has been extended until October 31 due to errors made during the construction. The main contractor is Azerbaijan’s Azvirt.
