The Administrative Board of "Petroleum Industry of Serbia" (NIS) will appoint today (February 28, 2008) Miloš Saramandić (DS) for president of the Executive Board, that is Chief Executive of the company.
The meeting was presided by former president Željko Popović for the last time because the Government of Serbia appointed new Administrative Board last week, which would be led by former first man of NIS - Srđan Bošnjaković (DS).
The decision about new Administrative Board will be put in effect on March 1st.
Saramandić has, so far, worked in Public company "Srbijagas", where he was Investment Manager for some time. Due to privatization, NIS was transformed in 2005 from public company into stockholding company, of which only owner is the state, and, on that occasion, public company "Srbijagas" was singled out from the structure of NIS as a separate public company.
Government of Serbia has not decided yet who to appoint to the position of the president of Administrative Board of "Srbijagas". Namely, at the beginning of the year, Vladimir Galić was appointed to that position, but he was dismissed from that position only few weeks later. Since summer 2007, Galić is the president of the City Board of DSS in Novi Sad.
