IMF expects Serbia's GDP to grow by 2.5% in 2016

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) confirmed today the projection of the growth of the GDP of Serbia by 2.5% in 2016, as announced during the IMF Mission's June visit to Belgrade.


The institution published the latest economic projections during the traditional autumn session of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington in the World Economic Outlook document.

According to the document, the projection for 2017 has been reviewed up from 0.4% to 2.8%.

The previous such document, published this April, projected the growth rate of 2.3%.

Regarding the unemployment rate, the IMF projects that it will be 18.6% in 2016 and 18.7% in 2017.
