Brodogradiliste Begej Zrenjanin property sold – Rubikon Shipping Company pays RSD 96 million

Rubikon Shipping Company (RSC) from Belgrade has bought the property of Brodogradiliste Begej in bankruptcy for RSD 96 million. The decision was made by the Board of Creditors of the Zrenjanin shipbuilding company, which had accepted RSC's offer, the report adds.

RSC won't become the owner of the land the facilities are located on, but only its user. The supplies of the bankruptcy owner were sold earlier and the equipment is subject to a court dispute and not available for use, the report says.

The new owner of Brodogradiliste Begej, as stated, will first invest in it in order to enable the full usage of capacities in accordance with the purpose.

– We point out that numerous measures towards providing electrical energy and making the work space functional have already been taken. The plan is to first employ 75 workers and then another 75 in the second phase in a year – the new owner announces.

RSC is the regional leader in river transport, which specializes in safe and reliable transport of chemicals and petroleum products.

The plan is to turn Brodogradiliste Begej into a location where the company's fleet will be reconstructed and modernized.

RSC was founded in 2007 in Belgrade. It owns 14 vessels with a capacity of 25,990 tons. It operates in many European countries (Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium).

In its activities, it honors all standards and laws of the European Union. In 2015, the company transported 679,000 tons of petroleum products, the report says.
