Thirteen companies, three of which are domestic, applied for the recently ended prequalification tender for investors of construction commercial-business facilities and completion of future main railway station ”Beograd centar”, also known as Prokop. In the following 30 days they will be delivered detailed conditions and, according to the words of Milanko Šarančić, director general of Railways of Serbia, signing of the contract on construction of Prokop can be expected already in October.

Besides three domestic companies, firms from America, Israel, Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Austria and one Greek-American joint venture from Cyprus are interested in participation in the biggest investment on the territory of Southeast Europe. The plan is that the works last 36 months, but most of the interested companies estimated that everything could be finished in much shorter time, 24 - 30 months. The works can start as soon as the contract is signed with the investor who gives the best offer not only in price, but also in deadlines.

The value of the future works in Prokopu is estimated to about €200m. After the completion of this job the construction of the complete Sava Amphitheater is expected and the value of the works is estimated to at least 6 billion USD.
