Even after declaration of independence of Kosovo, US Chamber of Commerce will continue to support development of Serbian market

President of the US Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, Dejan Cvetković, said yesterday (February 19, 2008) that the members of that organization would continue to operate in the same way after the declaration of independence of Kosovo.

Cvetković said that the Chamber, like before, would survey all aspects that could have influence on the organization and 170 companies members, and that it would operate in accordance with the legal framework of Serbia.

On the occasion of making business decision, as Cvetković explained, this organization will be driven exclusively by the needs and wishes of the companies members of the US Chamber of Commerce in Serbia and the whole market.

- The US Chamber of Commerce will maintain its positive influence on the development of Serbian market because, ever since it started to work, in 2001, it estimated that the market of Serbia would be quickly developed - said Cvetković, who is also the Chief Executive of company "Microsoft" in Serbia.

He added that that Chamber in Serbia gathered more than 170 foreign and local companies with about 600,000 workers, which had invested over 6 billion USD in Serbian market.

- The aim of the US Chamber of Commerce in Serbia is to become a strategic business associate and the center for business expertise for local companies - said Cvetković.
