How much does Digital Disruption and Innovation in Serbia depend on digital competencies of Board Members?

“Digitization on Boards” discussion was organized on Thursday, September 15t, at Falkensteiner hotel, in New Belgrade. Organized by the Serbian office of AMROP, one of the global leaders in Executive Search industry. AMROP decided to use results of the study which was done by its colleagues from Global Media and Technology Practice group, on the same topic, between the companies in Europe and USA, and to examine, through this discussion, where Serbia is in that whole process of digital disruption and innovation.

Around 50 guests, general managers and Board members of big companies in Serbia, from various industries, took participation in the event, by providing questions and comments. Participants of the discussion were representatives of four big international companies in Serbia, together with Marko Mlakar, Managing Partner of AMROP in Adriatic region.

The digitization was discussed by: Mr. Milos Djurkovic, CEO, Hewlett Packard Serbia; Mr. Ivan Knezevic, CFO / Deputy CEO, Siemens Serbia; Mr. Branislav Vujovic, President, New Frontier Group; Mr. Vladan Zivanović, Managed Services Director/GM, NCR Serbia.

Country Manager of AMROP Serbia, Sladjana Ginic, opened the discussion and Vesna Damjani, journalist, moderated it. After bringing out the results of the study done in Europe and US, she gave her comments and views on the same topic, from Amrop point of view.

Among the guests there were representatives from companies from different industries: banks, FMCG industries, construction companies, IT companies, real estate industries, insurance companies, fashion industries etc. This very attractive topic was discussed in a pleasant atmosphere.

All discussion attendees and guests exchanged opinions on different questions: What does digitization mean for nowadays business? Where are the companies in Serbia in the process of Digital Transformation comparing to European and US companies? How much does Digital Disruption and Innovation in Serbia depend on digital competencies of Board Members? What Company Leaders should do to accommodate this new unavoidable Digital trend? Are Board Members ready for the third (fourth) industrial revolution? What kind of consequences we can expect if we do not start facing and adopting to this Digital Transformation process?

After a successful discussion, a lot of opinions exchanged and messages sent, discussion was continued at the hotel terrace with dinner, cocktail and music.

– I think we managed to discuss this very attractive global topic on the local level. We found out how the digitization process looks like in companies in Serbia, how much we are progressing in process of digital transformation, how much actually important role of Board Members in this process is and what can we expect in the future. Reactions are very positive and I think that for very short time we managed to get enough information from this topic, which could be discussed about for hours – said Country Manager of AMROP Serbia, Sladjana Ginic.

The AMROP Company will continue organizing this kind of events in the future, by using attractive, current topics, Ginic announced.
