Denmark and Switzerland happiest world nations

The happiest people in the world live in Denmark and Switzerland, followed by Iceland, Norway and Finland, as shown by the latest survey of the World Happiness Report, covering 157 states.

Among the top ten countries are also Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden.

The results of the “happiness index” have been prepared by analyzing numerous studies including the most important social factors influencing subjective happiness, encompassing economic, health and psychological factors.

The ten “happiest” countries are mostly industrial countries of the Western mentality and small to medium in size. As many as seven states are in Europe.

Among the top 20 states are also Israel, Austria, the USA, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Germany, Brazil, Belgium, Ireland and Luxemburg.

Of the former Yugoslavian states, the happiest people live in Slovenia, which has placed 63rd, followed by Croatia in the 74th place and Kosovo in the 77th place. Serbia has placed 86th, Bosnia and Herzegovina 87th and Montenegro 88th. According to the index, the least happy people in the region live in Macedonia, which has placed 95th.

The least happy people in the world come from Madagascar, Tanzania, Liberia, Guinea, Rwanda, Benin, Afghanistan, Togo, Syria and Burundi.
