Independence of Kosovo not to have influence on investments of Austrian companies in Serbia

“Declaration of independence of Kosovo will not have any influence on activities and projected investments of Austrian companies in Serbia”, said the Trade Attache of the Embassy of Austria to Belgrade, Tijana Jočić, yesterday (February 18, 2008).

She said that the large number of representatives of companies and potential investors from Austria had called the Department of Commerce of Austrian Embassy because they had been worried about demonstrations that occurred in Belgrade the night before, but they had not changed their plans for activities and investments.

- The estimate of the Department of Commerce within the Embassy is that the declaration of independence of Kosovo will not cause any problem in operations of Austrian companies in Serbia. There should be no change in plans of Austrian companies, unless some bigger problems arise during demonstrations that are scheduled for Thursday, February 21. The estimate of the Department of Commerce within the Embassy of Austria is that the situation with demonstrations and protests in Serbia will be settled within next two weeks - said Jočić.
