IKEA Group completes fiscal year with record income
IKEA has reported that it made income of EUR 34.2 billion EUR in the fiscal year which ended in August. The record income in the fiscal year 2015/2016 is higher by 7% compared to the previous fiscal year, when it increased by 11%.
The IKEA Group, which owns the majority of IKEA stores around the world, notes that 5% of the growth was made in stores operating for more than year, as was the case in the previous fiscal year.
In June, CEO Peter Agnefjall said for Reuters that he expected a growth of 8 to 10 % in the fiscal year 2015/2016. He added that he planned to reach EUR 50 billion by 2020.
According to the latest report, Germany remains the group's largest market, with a new record growth rate, followed by the USA. China stands out among the markets with the highest growth rates, along with Australia, Canada and Poland.
They are planning to open their first stores in India and Serbia this year.
In addition to 12 new stores, IKEA opened 19 locations for delivery and pickup of shipments in the fiscal year 2015/2016. They intend to further increase their focus on integrating the physical and the digital trade.
