Odzaci awaiting new investors – Equipping of industrial zone nearly done

The president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, pointed out that the government, together with the municipality of Odzaci, would start implementing important infrastructural projects. These projects should pull the entire area forward and provide better conditions for living and doing business.

Mirovic and his associates visited the municipality of Odzaci on Sunday, September 11, 2016, where they met with the president of the Municipality, Dusan Marijan, and members of the Municipal Council, as well as representatives of the Directorate for Construction. They also took a tour of the industrial zone, where the construction of a traffic rout had continued, financed by the AP of Vojvodina.

The president of the Government of Vojvodina emphasized that it was important to stimulate the development of underdeveloped municipalities and said that all those potentials which could lead to a quicker economic development needed to be highlighted, citing the example of the company Magna as proof of investors’ interest in coming to the Odzaci industrial zone.

– We have agreed to complete all the infrastructure works by the end of next year at the latest, but also those that will be financed from the mutual funds of the Municipality, the Province and the competent ministries – Mirovic said.

He especially pointed to the potential that the business zone would provide to local and foreign investors, so that, as he emphasized, new companies and new jobs could be expected in two to three years.

The leaders of Odzaci emphasized the necessity of joining together in preparing the project of the border checkpoint at Bogojevo and the possibility of local economic development, as well as the manner of withdrawing assets from the EU funds.

During the talks, another important project was discussed, i.e. the revitalization of a section of the railway which links to the industrial zone.

Marijan emphasized that the communal equipping of the work zone was a highly demanding investments, but that it was still being carried out without problem and that it only remained to complete the parking lot, walking routes and lighting in 2017.

The delegation of the Provincial Government, headed by Igor Mirovic, also included Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-government Ognjen Bjelic and Provincial Secretary for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection Vladimir Galic.
