Works on construction of "Mercator" center in Niš close to end - opening on March 6

The Chief Manager of company "Mercator" for Serbia, Stanka Čurović, announced today (February 14, 2008) that constuction and equipping of "Mercator" center in Niš was close to end and that the facility would be opened on March 6th.

Niš-based "Mercator" center is the result of cooperation between "Mercator", "M Centar land" and "Impex promet" from Niš, and the largest anchor is "Mercator". Total surface of the facility, which consists of ground floor, two storeys and mid-floor, is 32,000 square meters.

The shopping center will be made of hypermarket and standard "Mercator" accompanying programs, as well as 54 rented outlets. The hypermarket will be at 4,000 square meters and it will be on the first floor. Čurović said that the prices of products would be competitive with the prices in other hypermarkets in Niš, especially the price of groceries.

"Mercator" shopping center with household appliances will be at 1,600 square meters.

Total number of workers, together with manpower in outlets, will be 500.
