Tomorrow, on the Republic Day of Montenegro, “Sozina“ tunnel to be opened

On July 13, on the Republic Day of Montenegro, Montenegrin Prime Minister, Milo Đukanović, will open passenger tunnel “Sozina“, 4,182 m long, which shortens the way between the central part of the Republic and the seaside by some 24 km. Pass through the tunnel will not be charged during the first two days. After that, the drivers of passenger automobiles will have to pay €2.5, the bus drivers - €12 and truck drivers €7.5 - €18.
The tunnel with access roads enables avoiding of difficult and dangerous section of the present main road through Paštrovska hill and it connects two most developed areas of Montenegro, Municipalities of Podgorica and Bar, in more quality way. About €84m has been invested in the construction of “Sozina“ tunnel. The means have been provided by the citizens of Montenegro and from the credit approved by European Investment Bank.
