First playground for children with disabilities in Belgrade - works to start in March

In Norveška Street, on Bežanijska Kosa, at the place of the old park that should be renovated, the first playground with the furniture adapted for children with disabilities will be built. Thanks to the Center for development of inclusive society, one deserted playground for children on Bežanijska kosa will be reconstructed and the first inclusive park, called the Park of rainbow colors, will be developed.
- The works should start at the beginning of March and end in mid-May. Total value of the investment is 5.8m RSD. The major part of that money is provided by EFG bank, and the donor is NIP, which will provide 1.7m RSD - says Aleksandar Bogdanović, a member of the Administrative Board of the Center for Development of Inclusive Society and coordinator of this project.
The funds from the National Investment Plan will be used for financing of construction of fence around th park, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in New Belgrade will provide additional security in the park.
The reconstuction project, which is elaborated by architects Irina Bočvarska and Ivo Hasanović, anticipates laying of rubber floor that will protect children while they play. There will also be a new furniture that will be adapted to the children with disabilities. According to the plan, surfaces that will have educational character will be paved and painted. There will also be parts intended for kids with damaged eyesight and moving disabilities.
