Engine fronts and interior components for cars and compartments will be produced in the leased 2,000 square meter facility in Free Zone Priboj, whose adaptation and equipping are nearing the end.
The contract between the municipality of Priboj and Refisa obliges the Spanish investor to hire 40 to 50 workers by the end of the year and a total number of 100 by the end of next one. Several engineers and factory workers have gone through training in Refisa's factory in Spain.
Components produced in Priboj will be sold to Spanish and Russian railway companies.
– The Government of Serbia has managed to convince Refisa's managers to expand their capacities. After putting this factory into operation, the investor will sign a contract on leasing another 2,000 m2 facility, which will allow for additional employments. Each job position means a lot to our economically weak municipality – says Krsto Janjusevic, MP from Priboj.
The example of Refisa, he says, will be followed by another small Spanish company from the metal industry, which should move into the Free Zone by the end of 2016.
