Mixed Chambers Council founded

The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Marko Cadez, and representatives of 13 mixed chambers of commerce signed an agreement on the founding of the Mixed Chambers of Commerce Council on September 1, with the aim of developing and strengthening the cooperation.

The Council will focus on drawing closer together and connecting the international business community active in Serbia, with the Chamber as an umbrella organization, strengthening the bilateral cooperation, stepping up the activities aiming to draw foreign investments and creating a local suppliers network, as well as internationalizing Serbian companies.

Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that the Government had showed that the economy and employment were its priorities, but that it was also important to hear what the economy needs.

– It is important to know how we can help, as we are on the same mission and have the same interests, all to the end of making Serbia more successful economically, and it is more successful than it used to be – said the minister of labor, employment, veteran and social policy.

He said that the meeting was very significant and that it was an important move by the CCIS, which had brought together the biggest entrepreneurs, which employ a large number of people.

As he pointed out, representatives of the government also wish to make themselves available and help solve every problem. – We talked about concrete problems regarding maternity allowances, which are regulated by the Law on Financial Support to Families with Children, and we have already decided that the allowances should be paid directly to future mothers – Vulin said.

He also said that entrepreneurs had been presented with the laws the competent ministry intended to pass in the period ahead, such as the law on employment through agencies, the law on vouchers for seasonal workers and all the laws which should regulate the economy.

One of the complaints made by employers is the length of labor disputes in Serbia, Vulin said and pointed out that concrete proposition would be given to the end of making the length of procedures reasonable.
