In early November this year, a joint military exercise of Serbia, Russia and Belarus (Slavic Brotherhood 2016) will be performed, the preparations for which were discussed in Belgrade by representatives of the three countries’ armed forces.

As the report by the Serbian Armed Forces says, Slavic Brotherhood 2016 will be performed as a trilateral exercise of the three countries’ armed forces and is a continuation of cooperation between the air and land operation units of the Russian Federation and the Special Brigade of the Serbian Army, which started by performing the SREM 2014 exercise.

Last year, the Slavic Brotherhood 2015 exercise was performed in the territory of the Russian Federation. This was the first time that representatives of Belarus armed forces participated in the event.

The delegation of the Serbian Armed forces was headed by the deputy chief of the SAF General Staff, Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, whereas the Russian and the Belarus delegations were headed by Major General Oleg Olegovich Polguyev and Colonel Vyacheslav Viktorovich Gubsky respectively.
