Clearing between Serbia and BiH - first transaction carried out in accordance with Clearing Agreement

National Bank of Serbia announced yesterday (January 5, 2008) that the first payment transactions between the banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the banks in Serbia had been carried out in accordance with the Agreement on clearing of international payments, which was signed between NBS and central banks of BiH and Montenegro on September 13th, 2007.

International payment operations between the countries of the region had functioned normally before, but it had included payments through accounts in foreign-correspondent banks.
