Mike Edwards - new CEO of Tobacco Industry Vranje

New Chief Executive of Tobacco Industry Vranje (DIV), which operates as a part of company "British American Tobacco", is Mike Edwards.

Edwards comes to DIV from the position of the production manager in Poland, from the factory that is the second in volume of production in Europe, within the structure of BAT tobacco group.

- Our greatest aim is to make sure that the factory in Vranje remains competitive and enables further growth on Serbian market - said Edwards and added that that implied the whole series of actions directed to improvement of production performances.

He came as the substitute for Jurgen Bakeberg who will go, after two years spent in Vranje, to the position of Chief Executive of BAT factory in Italian city of Lecce.

"British American Tobacco" is present in Serbia since 1996 and, after privatization of Tobacco Industry Vranje in 2003, it became one of the most important foreign investors in Serbia.

DIV produces about 5 billion cigarettes per year, which is four times more than in 2003.
