Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic stated for Tanjug on Tuesday, August 16, that Energoprojekt Entel and the Economics Institute had been hired to estimate the value of the property of Elektroprivreda Srbije with the aim of strengthening Serbia's most important public enterprise.

– Elektroprivreda Srbije is currently undergoing the restructuring process. We have just completed the corporatization phase and are realizing the financial consolidation plan. These measures also entail creating the conditions for EPS to turn into a joint-stock company in 2017 – Antic said.

This is why, as he said, the property of EPS is currently being evaluated, after which it will be necessary to estimate the value of the company.

– These are previously planned activities, which are part of the process of restructuring EPS. The media allegations that this is being done for the purpose of privatization are entirely untrue – Antic said.

Antic added that the estimate was being carried out by Energoprojekt Entel and the Economics Institute, local companies well regarded in their line of business, and that everything that was being done had the strengthening of EPS as its goal.
