MTLC: Metalac reported RSD 333.7m in consolidated 1H 2016 net profit, up 33.9% y/y

Gornji Milanovac-based Metalac (MTLC) reported RSD 333.7m in its 1H 2016 net profit, up 33.9%, on higher sales and profitability.

Consolidated sales in the period arrived at RSD 3.9bn, up 19.2% y/y, while operating profit was up 44.4%, on higher operating margin. Namely, operating profit margin for 1H16 was at 8.5% vs. 7.6% from 1H15. The best performing segment was a cookware unit, which generated RSD 1.5bn in total sales, up 19.8% y/y, and RSD 171.7m in pre-tax profit, up 44.4%. Newly consolidated automobile parts unit, Metalac FAD, generated RSD 188m in sales and RSD 26m in pre-tax profit, partly due to export deals. Shares in Metalac have increased by 15.9% in 2016 so far.
