Completion of Corridor 10 sections past the deadline – Termination of agreement considered

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said that her ministry had given two recommendations to Roads of Serbia to terminate the agreement with the contractors on Corridor 10 and that it was being considered whether to make the same recommendation regarding the lateness of the works on the Ljig-Preljina section on Corridor 11.

Mihajlovic said that what could be seen at the construction site were technical problems regarding the construction of two tunnels and the construction of bridges.

– The works are past the deadline by 40 days. They were scheduled to be completed in late August. I believe that technical problems are to blame. The question of responsibility is already being discussed – the minister said.

According to her, the section wasn't supervised, but the subcontractors needed to be selected much more soundly.

– The ministry has so far given two recommendations for the termination of the agreement with the contractor on Corridor 10, but there have been numerous instances of agreements between contractors and subcontractors being terminated – Mihajlovic said.
