NALED has two ministers in the new government – Participation of Brnabic and Nedimovic a strong reformation message

The National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) announced today that the organization was proud of the decision of the president and the vice president of the Managing Board, Ana Brnabic and Branislav Nedimovic, to enter the Government of Serbia and so take upon themselves to carry out the reforms to the end of improving the business climate.

– That Brnabic and Nedimovic have been asked to be ministers is a confirmation to NALED that we have always gathered the best people, with strong potential for reformation. The confirmation that we offer quality ideas and solutions for strengthening Serbia's competitiveness and the growth of the standard of living has come by way of Prime Minister's expose, which encompassed nearly all the reform proposal which NALED has insisted on for years – said Executive Director Violeta Jovanovic in the announcement.

They point out in NALED that Brnabic is facing a challenge of carrying out one of the most important endeavors in reducing the bureaucracy – the development of e-government.

The government's plan presented in the expose is to improve electronic data exchange between institutions in the next year, which will serve as a foundation for the implementation of new services and the termination of counters.

– The minister of public administration and local self-government has ahead of her a great task of preparing a public registry of procedures proposed by NALED, which will provide clear guidelines for how to complete administrative procedures in the quickest and easiest manner. However, the two said reforms couldn't be fully functional without trained civil and public servants, which is why we're happy that one of the priorities presented in the expose is the founding of a public administration academy – the announcement says.

Nedimovic is one of the initiators of the Law on Investment and a clearer division of competences between the central and local governments in attracting investments, which has been recognized as part of the new government's reform plans.

– Nedimovic will have the opportunity to realize one of the ideas initiated by NALED within his ministry – the implementation of a voucher system for seasonal agricultural workers – the announcement adds.

NALED also approves of the readiness of the Government of Serbia to promptly start implementing the National Program for Countering the Shadow Economy and to continue cooperating within the work group for improving Serbia's position in the World Bank's Doing Business list in order for Serbia to enter the top 30 as soon as possible.

Another step forward is the new cabinet's intention to pass the law on fees for the use of public goods, reduce the administrative encumbrance and para-fiscal charges by 15% in the next three years, develop the information system eInspector, enhance the capacities of the Ministry of Finance and promote public-private partnerships, as well as to improve the monitoring and analysis of the effects of the laws it passes, NALED emphasizes.
