A Danish company has decided to offer to pay salaries in the currency used in the popular game Pokemon Go. The company, which struggled to draw in candidates for a job position in the sales team, was inspired by the game to offer a part of the future employee’s salary in virtual currency – PokeCoins.

Prosis, an IT company located not far from Copenhagen, says that the traditional job ad hasn’t been successful. This is why they have decided to find the new employee by offering to pay the monthly earnings of DKK 25,000 (USD 3,700) in PokeCoins, so that the players can use them to buy items for the game, i.e. additional functions needed to catch as many “pocket monsters” as they can.

The rest of the earnings would be paid in a traditional manner. They also note that the full amount can be paid to the bank account, in case the candidate is merely job-hunting instead of Pokemon-hunting.

The company says that the unconventional award is supposed to be a fun way for the company to show that it is looking for young people.
