In Palace of Federation, Action plan of country programme signed – 6.5 million USD for "Millenium goals" of SCG

In the Palace of Federation, the representatives of the authorities in Serbia and Montenegro and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed the Action plan of the country programme (CPAP) for period 2005-2009, which will enable Serbia and Montenegro to obtain 6.5 million USD for implementation of "Millenium Development Goals" adopted by United Nations.

The document has been signed by the Minister of International Economic Relations of SCG, Predrag Ivanović, the Minister of International Economic Relations of Serbia, Milan Parivodić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Miodrag Vlahović, and coordinator of UNDP in SCG, Arturo Hein.

The Minister of International Economic Relations of SCG, Predrag Ivanović, announced that the Action plan was focused to three key subjects – development of administration, application of reign of law and sustainable development. He reminded that UNDP would provide financial support in amount of 6.5 million USD from its own sources for realization of the plan, while the additional means would be provided from the alternative sources, which, according to some estimates, had about 40 million USD at their disposal.

Coordinator of UNDP in SCG, Arturo Hein, pointed out that that plan regulated priority fields of act through support to reforms, as well as the process of integration into international community and European Union. He repeated that the programme would be focused to construction of institutions, reign of law, sustainable development and people’s safety.
