Construction of Lidl starts in Nis – Deadline set for January 2017, investment worth RSD 300 million

The construction of the building which will house a Lidl supermarket started on August 1. Ground leveling and earthworks are currently being carried out. The structure is being built at the intersection of Vizantijski Blvd and Medijana Blvd nest to the Nisava. The deadline has been set for January 2017.

The hectare of the land on which the supermarket is being built used to be partially owned by the city.

– The land on which this center is being built has been bought by the investor alone. The parcel has about a hectare of surface, of which 0.4 has been bought from the City, and the rest from private entities – city councilor Mihajlo Zdravkovic said.

The area of the new Lidl supermarket will be around 3,100 m2, and the value of the investment is close to RSD 300 million.

Lidl is one of the most successful supermarket chains in Europe. This is supported by the fact that Lidl has over 10,000 stores all over Europe, while continuing to expand intensively each year, the company's website writes.
