"Heineken" and "Efes" to join forces in Serbia

Dutch "Heineken" and Turkish "Efes" have announced that they will merge their breweries in Serbia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the first half of year 2008.

According to the announcements, "Heineken" will be the owner of 72%, while "Efes" will own 28% of the merged breweries in Serbia.

With the market share of 10%, company "Efes" is on the third place on our market. This company is the owner of Pančevo-based brewer "Weifert" and Zaječar's brewer.

By the way, "Heineken" is currently in the process of takeover of domestic "MB Brewer", which is the fourth largest brewery in Serbia.
