Zeljko Rebraca's shopping mall in Sombor on sale – Estimated value RSD 1.1 billion

The first public bidding for the purchase of the real estate of the judgment debtor Poslovni Centar Rebraca DOO Sombor will take place at the Commercial Court of Sombor on August 29. The court has reached this conclusion based on the writ of execution employed by the creditor True Capital International LLC, with headquarters in San Francisco.

The land occupied by the building in 9 Pariska St. in Sombor is being sold, with 20 ares and 45 square meters of surface, as is the building land of 37 square meters, as well as commercial service premises, i.e. a shopping mall, all in the same street.

The conclusion by the Commercial Court of Sombor on the sale of immovable property orders the purchaser to erase the written rights and encumbrances from the public registry, except for real and personal easements and real encumbrances, which are not lifted when the property is sold.

The market value of the immovable property has been estimated at RSD 1,101,140,000, as stated in the conclusion by the Commercial Court, and the starting price at the initial bidding will be 60% of the value.

By the way, the court session regarding the sale of Poslovni Centar Rebraca was scheduled for May, but it has been postponed until August 29. With this, the sale of a grand shopping mall has also been postponed. The mall contains, aside from numerous boutiques and shops, an IDEA supermarket, a coffee shop and a gym, all in the ownership of the renowned former basketball player Zeljko Rebraca.

A year ago, the debt of the shopping mall accrued to as much as RSD 256 million, of which RSD 71 million of taxes owed to the state. In his rare public appearances, Zeljko Rebraca never denied the debt, but he always pointed out that the debt was mostly a consequence of the mortgage loan taken out from the True Capital International LLC and added that it would be covered.

It is obvious that the American creditors didn't have the patience for their Serbian client, which is why they have obtained the executive decision by the court. This way, due to the remaining debt of RSD 147 million, the business center worth nearly eight times as much, that is, over RSD 1.1 billion, is on its way to change ownership at the public bidding to be held on August 29.
