Slavija Fountain to be built by local and Hungarian companies – Construction cost RSD 218.5 million

The Slavija Fountain, whose value has been estimated at RSD 230 million, will be built by local companies and one Hungarian company. Four bidders answered the tender (one bid has been assessed to be unacceptable), and the contract for the construction of the fountain has been awarded to the companies BMD BAU and A.S.A. Eko from Belgrade, whose subcontractor will be the Hungarian Ganz Hydro Kft. They were the ones who made the lowest bid at RSD 182.1 million.

When the VAT in the amount of RSD 36.4 million is added to the sum, the total cost amounts to around RSD 218.5 million.

It is interesting to note that PUE Beograd Put was unsuccessful at the tender, as it had offered the highest bid at around RSD 229.7 million.

The construction works will take 155 to be completed, and they might begin this autumn, as previously announced by the city manager, Goran Vesic. Since the tender for the construction of traffic routes on Slavija and in Oslobodjenja Blvd has fallen though, the construction of the fountain will be executed without stopping the traffic. It means that it will be completed next spring or summer, during the reconstruction of the square.

In addition to the works on the fountain and the reconstruction of traffic routes, the plan is to fully set in order the water and sewer networks at Slavija. This job was awarded last week to the Slovenian company Kostak – Komunalno Ingradbeno Podjetje.
