Real growth of GDP of Serbia in the second quarter of 2016 amounts to 1.8%

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Serbia had a real growth of 1.8% in the second quarter of 2016 relative to the second quarter of 2015, according to a flash estimate by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (SORS).

A more detailed calculation of GDP for the second quarter of 2016, which is compiled at lower levels of aggregation by deflation method, will be published on August 31, the SORS announced on Monday, August 1.

The real growth of GDP in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to 3.5% relative to the corresponding three-month period of 2015, whereas the growth relative to the previous quarter amounts to 1.6%.

At the end of 2015, the growth of Serbia's GDP was 0.8%. As for 2016, the budget plan projects an economic growth of 1.75%, but it is expected that it will be larger.
