Montenegro Airlines rents an airplane with crew from Air Serbia

The Montenegrin national airline company, Montenegro Airlines, has rented one of Air Serbia's planes together with the crew. The airplane rented is one of the old boeings 737-300 which used to be owned by JAT, and are now part of the fleet of Aviolet, the charter company of Air Serbia.

The 29-year-old plane made its first flight for Montenegro Airlines on Saturday, on the Podgorica-Lion route, and has since been used for flights on regular routes to Belgrade, Ljubljana, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt., the Montenegrin media report.

The Montenegrin airline company was forced to make a short term rent in order to compensate for one of its two fokker F-100 planes being out of order temporarily.

The management of Montenegro Airlines hasn't yet answered the question regarding the commercial conditions under which the plane and the crew were rented. The arrangement should last no longer than until Sunday, July 24, when the aircraft which is being serviced is expected to return to the fleet.

Unofficially, considering that the boeing's capacity in the past days has been consistently filled to a great extent, and that the number of bookings on the lines it's been engaged on was very high, there's a possibility that the company will continue to rent the 145-seat plane, which is bigger than fokkers and embraers.
