Beekeeping equipment factory opens in Trgoviste – Jobs for 30 people

A new factory for the production of beekeeping equipment opened on Tuesday, July 19, in Trgoviste. The factory will employ 30 people, and there will also be work for 40 subcontractors, young beekeepers from this southern Serbian municipality.

The investment has been realized with the goal of providing an example of a successful endeavor within the program of public-private partnerships in the sector of apiculture in Trgoviste and has already resulted in the construction of the first hives for the program's clients from the municipality.

The Zlatibor Regional Development Agency has carried out the support program for the unemployed in the beekeeping sector through its Private Sector Development Program, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The support program is carried out through the public-private partnership between the beekeeping cooperative Roj from Trstenik and the municipality of Trgoviste.

The municipality of Trgoviste has recognized the importance of the program and co-invested in the support for 40 young unemployed beekeepers in starting their businesses with 15 hives each.

By solving the administrative problems which used to be present in the former rabbit farm, the municipality of Trgoviste has fulfilled the prerequisites for a new investment in its territory, which has resulted in the investment by the beekeeping cooperative Roj in the facility in question.
