The director of the Association of Private Security at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Djordje Vucinic, said that security companies had taken the new regulations seriously.
– The training has been passed by 15 to 18% of the total number of security workers, which is a percentage that gives us a good outlook for completing the process of licensing the staff by the end of the year – Vucinic stated.
It is expected that up to 10% of those employed should complete the training each month, and at the moment, it is the large companies with their own security services that have gone the farthest in the process of licensing.
The Law on Private Security was passed two years ago, and one of its stipulations says that a business entity providing security services must have at least 10 licensed workers in order to be able to apply for a license. The training and exam costs are paid for by the employee.
Around 30,000 people work in the security sector.
