The European Commission has approved the creation of the joint company Froneri of the Swiss producer Nestle, with brands like Mövenpick and Schöller, and the French company PAI Partners, which produces Milka and Landliebe ice-creams.

Froneri will produce and sell ice-creams in Europe and outside of it, as well as frozen food products in Europe, the regional media report.

PAI partners will contribute to Froneri with its ice-cream business, which operates through the company R&R. Nestle contribution will be its ice-cream business in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Philippines, Brazil and Argentina and a part of its frozen food business in Europe.

The European Commission has determined that the proposed acquisition won't limit the competition, since R&R and Nestle aren't close competitors in the ice-cream market in the European Economic Area and that they will still compete against Unilever and several other ice-cream manufacturers.
