Ahold-Delhaize merger by the end of July

The planned merger between Ahold and Delhaize should be completed by the end of July, states the regional approval by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of the USA, as reported in Delhaize’s announcement.

The merger between the two groups will probably be completed more than a year after the initial announcement was made on June 24, 2015.

The Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) approved the official merger in March 2016. The approval by the FTC is the final regulatory approval necessary for the completion of the merger.
