Ditre Italia to open a factory in Vranje by the end of 2018 – Investment worth EUR 8.5 million

Stankovic stated for Beta that 200 to 300 workers would be employed in the facility.
As he added, this will be the second factory of the Italian investor to be opened in Vranje this year, after Geox opened its footwear factory in Bunusevac Free Zone in January.
He said that the local self-government had been obliged to provide Ditre Italia, which already operates in Serbia through its company Top Sofa, with an access road to a parcel in Bunusevac Free Zone, which had already been done, whereas the investor was responsible for the works on the parcel.
— It is of great significance for Vranje that more people will be employed, but it’s also important that, thanks to the developments in the Free Zone, we have gained new transport routes which can be used by people traveling in the direction of Vranje, as well as the possibility of employing smaller construction companies as subcontractors – Stankovic said.
Bunusevac Free Zone, which is located at the outskirts of Vranje in close proximity to Corridor X, spreads across 114 hectares, of which 60 hectares are now being developed.
A 30-hectare parcel has been given to the Italian shoe factory Geox to use and has been prepared for the most part, and the factory started operating in January this year, whereas 15 hectares have been given to the Italian furniture factory Ditre Italia to use.
As Ditre Italia announced, an additional 10,000 m2 structure will be built in the second phase, in which 411 workers will be employed.
The value of Ditre Italia’s investment, which should be completed by the end of 2018, is EUR 8.5 million.
