An agreement between Belgrade and the region of Lazio – An early warning system for hydraulic and hydro-geological risks as a result of cooperation with the Italians

Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Andreja Mladenovic and the director of the operative center of the Civil Protection Department of Lazio, Francesco Mele, signed on Wednesday, July 13, at the Old Court, a three-year framework agreement on modernizing and extending the city's early warning system for hydraulic and hydro-geological risks.

– We have opened a new area of cooperation regarding civil protection, the safety of our city and all the experiences which the region of Lazio has – Mladenovic said following the signing of the agreement, announced the Information Service of Belgrade.

He added that the Italian partners would help in the development of civil protection, safety and everything necessary for Belgrade to take measures to secure the increased safety and to protect itself from all possible risks in the period to follow.

The plan, as he said, is to start with pilot projects in the municipalities of Obrenovac and Lazarevac.
