New investments in Mali Bajmok Industrial Zone – Continental building a factory, Subotica building a hall for future investors

Right next to the current one, another factory of the German company Continental will be built by the end of the year. Thanks to this investment, another 500 workers will be employed in the next three years in this factory, whose size will be double that of the current one, which has so far employed 730 people. Their job will be to produce car parts for some of the most prestigious cars in Europe.
– The value of the investment is around EUR 17 million. This is a direct investments and it proves the seriousness of our company's intentions to stay here and make further investments – said Zivko Topalovic, director general of ContiTech Fluid Serbia.
In order to continue to draw investments to this zone, the local self-government will use assets of the Capital Investment Fund for the construction of a factory hall meant for brownfield investments, i.e. for leasing to interested companies. The value of the investment is around RSD 115 million.
– We have already received requests by future investors, which plan to start arriving to Subotica to invest and work starting this autumn, to have their own production here, but we haven't yet decided who we will sign the contract with – said Nebojsa Darabos, member of the City Council responsible fro investments and tourism.
Several multinational companies from Germany, Austria and the United States of America operate in Mali Bajmok Industrial Zone, mostly in the free zone regime.
