Representatives of the European Central Bank confirmed today in Belgrade that the bank was prepared to help Serbia to resolve its non-performing loans and to maintain the stability of the banking and economic system in Serbia.

Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank Benoît Cœuré talked to Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic about the economic situation and developmental perspectives, as well as about Serbia's influence on economic trends in the Western Balkans.

As it was said after the meeting, other topics of the conversation included the economic situation in the Eurozone post-Brexit and the measures which the ECB would take in order to stabilize the market and reduce the negative effect of Great Britain's exit from the European Union as much as possible.

Cœuré spoke favorably about the Government's economic reforms and the stable monetary policy carried out by the National Bank of Serbia.
