EPCG's move isn't surprising to those who are familiar with world trends. The company wants its place in the world of telecommunications, which is why it has started the preliminary talks with M:tel in order to complete its system of smart home services.
Nevertheless, the chairmen of EPCG are also thinking of developing their own telecommunications network and mobile operator, in case that the purchase of Montenegro's youngest mobile operator doesn't go through.
The two companies have already entered a strategic partnership. EPCG has enabled M:tel to install optical cables in its part of the network. M:tel is, in turn, obliged by contract to handling the entirety of the investment, and EPCG will become the owner of a half of the capacities.
- The sale of a part of M:tel's shares is solely in competence of our owners, so we can't comment on that. The fact is that M:tel is a rising company with great potential, which makes it interesting to a large number of investors – said the executive director of M:tel, Vladimir Lucic.
