FAO and EBRD continue to support Serbian agribusiness – The study on the possibilities of using animal waste presented



The study was financed by EBRD for the area of the Western Balkans, and it was carried out with the support of the consulting company Ernst & Young, states the joint announcement by FAO and EBRDS sent to Tanjug.
The workgroups, which were founded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, gather the eminent representatives of these two cattle farming sectors, with the goal of improving productivity and competitiveness of the manufacture, processing and marketing of meat and milk, promoting the investments in these sectors and improving food safety for people and animals in Serbia.
- At the meeting, we also discussed the activities which lie ahead, like the finalization of sector studies, the planned visit to the international food fair, and the support to the project of organizing the second dairy industry congress in Serbia this autumn – stated the leader of the project, Milos Milovanovic.
In addition to this, the activities realized in the previous six-month period were also discussed.
The realization of this project began in 2014, since, according to the claims by EBRD and FAO, these agricultural sectors are crucial to the development of the country’s entire agribusiness.
